Middle parts, Aritzia, collagen: What's in, what's out in 2023

Welcome to 2023!

To be honest, it really doesn't feel like a New Year. And yet already, so many things have happened in the last week. Barbara Walters' death, Jeremy Renner's injury, Damar Hamlin's collapse. It's been a heavy news week.

So I thought I'd do something more lighthearted this week. As you may have seen, everyone is listing their in's and out's for 2023. Just for funsies, of course. I have to give credit to my coworkers, David and Anika, who posted theirs on Instagram— and I was inspired!

Anyway, here's what's in, what's out, according to me. Some 2022 trends need to go (Middle parts, you've overstayed your welcome. Sincerely, a round-faced girl). But I'm also excited to see what new trends will come. Already, we've shifted from bodysuits to puffy sweaters, matte makeup to glass skin, bleached blonde to natural brunette.

So in honor of 2023... here are my predictions!

Now, does this mean I'll never touch what's "out" again? Of course not. I can't help what's trending or not, and I'm a fickle person. What can I say?

But whatever your in's and out's are: do what's best for you. I love these lists because you can choose what trends to follow, what to avoid if you're feeling a little rebellious and ~different~. The beautiful thing is that it's all up to you, based on your opinions, style and goals.

Thanks for reading this far! Next week, I'll be showing you my to-go, 5-minute "no makeup" makeup routine (as shown here). It's a great, everyday option for those who prefer a more natural, yet less time-consuming look. And yes— beginner friendly.

See you Monday!

Jenna
